Olympic bronze medalist Jenny Jones uses a trampoline

10/02/2014 JENNY JONES won Great Britain's first ever medal on snow in Sochi over the weekend, the Team GB snowboarder won a bronze medal for slopestyle.
Part of the training involved in this kind of sport includes regular trampolining sessions.  Jenny says "Using a trampoline helps with spatial awareness and things like that, learning what it feels like to go upside down and spinning and things like that. So, if you started off with maybe trampolining or gymnastics, it can really help."  Using a trampoline to practice spins and twists really helps to build confidence.  If you are confident in the air above a trampoline it increases your confidence for when you are on the snowboard.  Jenny trains particulary hard on and off of the slopes.  Resistance training, fitness training along with flexibility and trampolining ensure that she is still at the top of her sport at 33 competing against much younger competitors.  Long may she continue to fly the flag for British female winter sports athletes.
